Mega Cheddar for children - a first for Cricketer Farm

Leading producer of healthy cheese, Cricketer Farm, is the first to create a cheese specifically for children which is enriched with Omega-3.  Cricketer's new Mega Cheddar is a mild cheddar cheese packed in 23g cheese sticks, each of which contains 20% of a child's RDI (Recommended Daily Intake) of Omega-3.

"This is a very exciting launch for us at Cricketer as it's the first time we have created a cheese specifically for children.  Each stick of our new Mega Cheddar is completely natural Cheddar cheese with no flavourings or colourings made using only the highest quality locally-sourced milk.  The addition of Omega-3 into Mega Cheddar is not only a first for us at Cricketer, but also a first for cheesemakers overall.  We are continually working to ensure that we are at the forefront of the market," said Simon O'Brien from Cricketer Farm. 

The new Mega Cheddar is the result of an extensive product development programme at Cricketer Farm, aiming to create new and innovative cheeses.  Each stick is high in calcium and protein, and is rich in essential vitamins.  The cheese is wrapped in a foil packet to maintain freshness and packed in an imaginatively designed and striking brightly coloured box, which has been created to appeal to parents and their children.  Cricketer has also developed fun cartoons and illustrations to explain how the cheese is made and the many benefits of the product.

"Research into Omega-3 has shown that it can aid concentration and brain development in children and by adding it to cheese, which is already a protein and calcium-rich food, we have provided a product which has many potential health benefits for children.  Most importantly the cheese is mild and creamy and children have given it a thumbs up in our trials! " explained Simon.  "We think the packs are informative, eye-catching and fun – a must have lunchbox item," finished Simon. 

Cricketer's new Mega Cheddar will be launched in Waitrose stores in April, and the company will also be releasing launch dates with other major retailers.
