Cricketer Farm, the Somerset cheesemaker which has been recognised for its innovative cheeses, will be setting the standard at the Nantwich International Cheese Show with its range of new award-winning products. The Company, which was recently presented with the coveted Supreme Champion award at the 2007 Royal Bath & West Show, will be introducing visitors to its latest recipe for its lightest 2% fat cheese. Cricketer will also be offering a taste of Mega Cheddar, a cheese created by Cricketer's cheesemakers especially for children.
"The Nantwich International Cheese Show is one of the most prestigious events in the dairy calendar and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand. New this year is our Mega Cheddar cheese, which is enriched with Omega 3 and our lightest 2% fat cheese. Both recipes have taken many months to develop, and we hope that visitors to the show will be impressed with the flavour, texture and appearance of both cheeses," commented Simon O'Brien from Cricketer Farm.
Cricketer Farm has a cheesemaking history stretching back 60 years and throughout this time has achieved great success in international and national award schemes. Each of the Company's cheeses is made to traditional recipes, which have been handed down through many generations of master cheesemakers.
This year Cricketer won a huge clutch of 14 awards at the Royal Bath & West Show including five first prizes, the award for Supreme Champion and the Dairy Crest Perpetual Cup. "These awards are a tribute to the continued hard work and passion of our whole team, from the local farmers who produce our milk to our master cheesemakers, and we hope to continue this success at Nantwich!" continued Simon.
Cricketer Farm is situated on the edge of the Quantock hills, the first ever Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Each of Cricketer's cheeses is made to a traditional recipe using full fat, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, producing a range of Farmhouse Cheddar cheeses, half fat cheeses, quarter fat cheeses and 2% fat cheeses.
