Cricketer Farm pours over 60 years of traditional cheesemaking skills into its new Lightest cheese

Known as the 'home of healthy cheese', Cricketer Farm, an award-winning Somerset cheesemaker, has launched its new Lightest cheese, a recipe which has only 2% fat.  The cheese, which is made using traditional cheesemaking skills and locally sourced milk, is full of flavour, with a smooth texture and golden colour. Lightest

"We truly believe that the new recipe for our Lightest cheese is our best and most innovative yet.  Our cheesemakers have worked extremely hard to develop the texture and taste so that people who want to reduce the amount of fat in their diets can do so without loosing out on the flavours and textures of a full fat cheese.  The demand for healthier dairy products is continually growing and we work hard to stay at the forefront of the market," commented Simon O'Brien from Cricketer Farm.

Ideal for use in sandwiches, salads and cooking, Cricketer's Lightest cheese has been created specifically to meet the increasing demand for lower fat dairy options.  Each cheese is made using milk sourced from local farmers, which is skimmed of almost all the fat at Cricketer's dairy.  "Although our new cheese is very low in fat it is still made using skills which are prize-winning and have been handed down through generations of cheesemakers.  It is this expertise and passion that makes our Lightest cheese, what we consider to be, one of the best on the market," finished Simon.

This year, Cricketer Farm has been presented with 11 awards for its reduced fat cheeses.  Including: first at the Royal Bath & West Show for its Half Fat cheese, two firsts at the Frome Cheese Show for its Reduced Fat and Half Fat cheeses, the CHR Hansen (UK) Ltd Award and the Norpoint Perpetual Challenge Cup.

Cricketer's new Lightest cheese is made to a mild and mature recipe, and is packed in 240g pieces with an RRP of £1.89.  The new recipe is available in Waitrose, independent retailers, farms shops and delicatessens.  The Company will also be releasing launch dates with other major retailers.
