An award-winning year for Cricketer Farm

Somerset-based Cricketer Farm is celebrating after receiving a record 38 awards in 2007 for its range of butter, cream and traditional and healthier cheeses. From County shows to internationally renowned cheese shows, Cricketer Farm proved it was the cream of the crop, winning 10 first place awards, 11 awards for its lower fat and half fat cheeses and eight cups! It was an amazing year for Cricketer, we welcomed new retailers on board and saw rapid growth year on year for our half-fat cheese. Cricketer Farm has been making cheese for almost 60 years and during this time has been presented with hundreds of awards. This year the Company was thrilled to be presented with the coveted Supreme Champion award at the 2007 Royal Bath & West Show. Other cups received by Cricketer Farm this year include: The Matthews & Skailes Perpetual Challenge Cup, Best Entry in Classes and the Dairy Crest Perpetual Challenge Cup at the Royal Bath & West Show, The CHR Hansen Double Gloucester Cheese Trophy at the Nantwich International Cheese Show and the Barbers Perpetual Challenge Cup, CHR Hansen (UK) Ltd Trophy and Norpoint Perpetual Challenge Cup at the Frome Cheese Show.

Cricketer Farm, situated at the edge of the Quantock hills, the first ever Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), makes traditional and innovative cheeses. Each of Cricketer's cheeses is made to a traditional recipe using full fat, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, producing a range of Farmhouse Cheddar cheeses, half fat cheeses, quarter fat cheeses and 2% fat cheeses.
