New pre pack machinery

Award-winning cheesemaker, Cricketer Farm has increased the packing capacity at its Somerset site to meet the demands of growing business with major multiples.  The Company will be welcoming new members to its team and has invested in new machinery to facilitate the development of its pre-pack business.  Cricketer Farm is one of the Country’s leading cheesemakers and is known for its champion traditional and healthier cheeses which are supplied to retailers throughout the Country.

Managing Director at Cricketer Farm Paddy O’Keeffe comments: “In the current challenging economic climate it is wonderful to be expanding and employing additional people, and I am very proud that our whole team has really pulled together to help us to sustain our growth.  The increasing demand for our ready-packed cheese has enabled us to invest in machinery and to recruit new members to our team, who will be working on new business with multiples and the development of lines for both our traditional and healthier ranges.  We are incredibly lucky to have such a committed and experienced team at Cricketer and it is hard work and determination that has helped us to achieve this growth.”

Cricketer Farm was established in the 1940s by the late Lord Beaverbrook and merged with St Helen’s Farm of Yorkshire in 1999.  Cricketer makes award-winning Farmhouse Cheddar and also specialises in producing cheeses with a lower fat content, such as cheeses with half the fat of Cheddar and Red Leicester.  Milk used for Cricketer’s cheese is supplied by local farms and the Company works closely with the farmers to ensure that the milk used is of the highest quality.
